    Hope for the Future Foster Transition and Resource Center

    Located in King County, WA, Hope for the Future Foster Transition and Resource Center exists to empower foster youth aged 18 to 24 who are exiting foster youth support systems or have recently aged out of foster care. We provide comprehensive support through life skills education, transitional housing, resume preparation, budgeting assistance, career exploration, job search guidance, college preparation, and various other services.

    Helping King County foster youth (17-24) transition to adulthood with housing, life skills, job support, and mentorship.

    OUR MISSION

    Our purpose is to address critical gaps in support for exiting foster youth through a comprehensive support model. Our programs are tailored to DCYF guidelines, ensuring that the services we provide align with current legislation requirements: 


    Life Skills Education: Workshops on essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, time management, and personal hygiene, aimed at empowering foster youth. 


    Transitional Housing: Safe and affordable independent housing for 3 to 5 years, contingent upon program completion. We offer on-site, 24/7 support to ensure stability and security for those in our exiting foster youth support program. 


    Career Services: Assistance with resume preparation, job search, career exploration, and job readiness training tailored for foster youth. 


    Financial Literacy: Budgeting assistance, financial planning, income tax preparation, and money management workshops designed to promote financial independence. 


    College Preparation: Guidance on college applications, financial aid, scholarships, and navigating campus life for foster youth. 


    Support Services: Mental health counseling, mentorship programs, and peer support groups to foster community and resilience.
