    Hope for the Future Foster Transition and Resource Center exists to empower foster children ages 18 -24 who are aging out of or have recently aged out of the foster care system. We provide comprehensive support through life skills education, transitional housing, resume preparation, budgeting assistance, career exploration, job search guidance, college preparation, and various other services.

    Helping King County foster youth (17-24) transition to adulthood with housing, life skills, job support, and mentorship.

    OUR MISSION

    Our Purpose is to address these critical gaps through a comprehensive support model. Our programs are tailored to DCYF guidelines and the services we provide are directly in line with requirements per current legislation:

    • Life Skills Education: Workshops on essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, time management, and personal hygiene.
    • Independent Housing: Safe and affordable independent housing from 3 to 5 years, with required program completion. On-site, 24/7  support to ensure stability and security.
    • Career Services: Assistance with resume preparation, job search, career exploration,  and job readiness training.
    • Financial Literacy: Budgeting assistance, financial planning, Income tax preparation, and money management workshops.
    • College Preparation: Guidance on college applications, financial aid, scholarships, and campus life.
    • Support Services: Mental health counseling, mentorship programs, and peer support groups.
